Downtown Cameron has experienced a face-lift with the renovation of our historic courthouse and an 1891 Victorian-style building that is now the Cameron City Hall-McLane Municipal Center. Cameron lights up with excitement with the recreational and special events held throughout the year. With events such as The Annual Dewberry Festival, Arts & Crafts Fair and Fun Run , the Christmas Parade, the Cameron Chamber Christmas Classic Basketball Tournament, you will always find something to do in Cameron. History
An 1895 jail was once Milam County’s main law enforcement, but now is the Milam County Jail Museum and will be open from 1pm to 5 pm. The museum is now located at 112 W. 1st Street and is open from 10am to 4 pm Tuesday through Friday. You might also want to visit the 1891 Victorian-style building that is now the Cameron City Hall-McLane Municipal Center.
