Welcome to my bi weekly article that is found in our local newspaper and on our local radio state. Here you can find out what is going on in the Cameron Chamber of Commerce and any new news that we might have.
You CAN make a Difference…
Ask yourself this question: Why Shop Cameron? Shopping locally pays - All of Us!!! When we all shop locally for our groceries, car parts, lumber and other household items, we help not only the local business owner, but ourselves as well.
Did you know that when we shop locally, we are securing existing jobs and creating better employment opportunities for family, friends and neighbors? By shopping in Cameron we decrease the city's reliance on property taxes and the need to increase them. Shopping out of town deprives our community of sales and sales tax.
Local sales tax provides the city with police and fire protection, and maintenance of streets, parks, water, sewer and other city services. So remember when you think about going to get groceries or even need to have that air conditioner repaired, let's look to those local businesses first. REMEMBER, CAMERON FIRST, This is Our Town!!!
Dewberries and Counting……
AThat's right just three short weeks until the Dewberry Festival. April 28th is the date for the Dewberry Festival. We're still looking for local talent in Cameron to contact the Chamber about performing through out the day. A staged area will be provided for those who will be performing.
We are showcasing local talent at this year's festival. Time slots will be assigned according to the act and setup time. To allow time for scheduling, April 13th is the deadline to have your information into the Chamber. The date for the Dewberry Festival is April 28th. Please contact the Cameron Chamber office at 254-697-4979 if you are interested in performing at the Festival
