The volunteers are busy working on details for the Annual Dewberry Festival on April 23rd and 24th at Wilson-Ledbetter Park.

    Activities and Entertainment

In the works this year are some of the regular favorite events such as the BBQ Cook-Off and Arts and Crafts show.  Also, returning for its second year is the Classic Car Show.  Last year was the first year for the Classic Car Show and we are excited to have the Cameron Car Club leading the efforts to rally dozens of super cool cars and trucks for the event this year.  This should be a fun experience for visitors and participants alike.

Any more the Dewberry Festival just wouldn't be the same without the Youth Fishing Tournament.   So dust off your fishing poles kids ages 0 to 17.  If you don't have a fishing pole don't worry.  Just come out early to borrow a pole for the day.  I think I heard fish gurgles about  the fish being on a special diet to grow grow grow so they are ready for all the kids to make big catches. Could be that's just a tall fish tale but who knows unless you come on down to give it a try.

If you are the competitive type we have a few more things for you too.  For those of you who love horseshoes, you don't want to miss the Dewberry Horseshoe Tournament.   You'll find the horseshoe tournament located near the main entrance this year.  If your competitive streak is a little more relaxed then horseshoe pitching then you might be interested in entering your dewberry cake or cobbler in the Dewberry Cake and Cobbler Bake-off.

New this year, will be Country music entertainment on both Friday and Saturday night.    Friday night we are excited to have Kristin Kelly and the Modern Day Drifters with us.  Saturday night we welcome the Randy Brown Band to the stage.  Randy Brown was one of the nominees for Texas Country Entertainer of the year this year.   .

    A Note for Businesses

We are planning for a big crowd this year so area businesses take note.

    Get Involved

The Dewberry Festival is a great opportunity to be a part of something that brings the community together in a positive endeavor.  If you are interested in helping with the event, please give us a call at the Chamber office 697.4979.   There is always something to do.
